Judging Criteria
You know that feeling when you’re reading a book, and there’s a couple sentences that INSTANTLY make you break out the highlighter? That’s what we’re looking for!
Share your two strongest (consecutive) sentences from any unpublished work of fiction you’ve created. The ones you reread and think, “Wow! Maybe I AM a good writer!”
They can be from the beginning, end, or anywhere in the middle of your work. They can include dialogue or exposition. But just remember: you’re limited to TWO periods.
What the winning sentences will have:
We’re not looking for the fanciest pair of sentences with the biggest words. We’re looking for a couple sentences that gut-punch us, that hit us in the feels, and are—simply put—unforgettable.
